Monza, a beautiful historical city full of stylish shops, great sports facilities and restaurants, is the capital of the new province of Monza Brianza (MB).
It is located just 10 minutes by train from the centre of Milan and this plus its International schools, excellent sports facilities, theatre, cinema, concerts and International Womens Club (Benvenuto International Club Of Monza) help make it a popular choice for foreigners locating to the industrial and commercial heartland of Italy.
The City is probably most famous for its motor racing circuit, home of the Italian Grand Prix, which is held in the Parco di Monza; a park for all types of leisure activities including golf and horse riding; it is roughly double the size of Central Park in New York. It is also the gateway to the beautiful Brianza region, the foothills of the Alps, the Italian Lake District and closer still is the Natural Park of Montevecchia with its foot & cycle paths, vineyards and restaurants.
Getting to work is helped by excellent train services linking Monza and many commuter towns in the Brianza to Milan in the south, Lecco, Como, Chiasso (Switzerland) in the north and Bergamo/Brescia to the east. Monza is on the north east edge of the motorway ring road circumnavigating Milan; and the whole area is served by major motorways to all points of the compass.
The climate is usually cold short winters and long hot summers; January is normally the coldest month and July the hottest.
